Nasrudin and the recipe

Nasrudin was taking a large calf liver home to cook. A freind saw him and when discovering he was going to have liver for dinner wrote the secret recipe of liver kabob which had been in his family for ages. He said, “This will be the best liver you will ever eat. It will be delicious. Fit for a feast for the Sultan.”

The Mullah’s mouth watered. He ran home as fast as he could so he would have this wonderful meal. As was running a crow flew down and grasped the liver in his talons and flew away. Nasrudin ran after the crow, threw a few stones unsuccessfully at it and then when he was positive that the liver was totally lost he shouted at the crow, “At least come back and get the recipe so you can have a delicious meal.”
