Mullah Nasrudin got a job looking after the Sultan’s favorite mare. He lived a life of luxury in the court and ate three times the other employees.
One day the king and queen called him to talk to him. The Sultan asked him, "Nasrudin, how long have you been in our employment?"
The Mullah replied, "Thirty years sire."
The queen asked, "And what were you hire to do?"
Nasrudin bowed and said, "To look after his majesty’s favorite mare, Rokhsan, your royal highness."
The king said, "Nasrudin, my mare died twenty nine years ago!"
The Mullah asked, "Your royal imperial most high majesty, what would you like me do now?"
